Are you a photographer, graphic designer, painter or any other  kind of artist, and would you like your design to make a home more personal? Or become a furniture piece itself? Well, this is your chance! AJANAKU has been invited  by MYKEA to create a furniture design series for thisismykea.com; an online web store which offers original prints to customize your  furniture. We therefore invite you to create a unique AJANAKU-series with us.

What does the home of a modern man look like? How would you define the interior of a woman with a refined and authentic style? What ultimate piece will you find in the abode of a couple with a cosmopolitan mindset? Show us your print design for an interior piece in the home of the “Modern Gentle(wo)man” – a person with a sense of quality, an authentic style, and a great curiosity for art, travel and good cuisine. Any kind of setting is possible: A photographed moose on the wall for a cabin in the mountains of Switzerland; a two-color patterned graphic table for a gallery in Milan; a glamorous graphic design for a bed in a sexy hotel in New York City; or a dreamy la-la-land wall-design for a playroom in a family home. Just show us how your print ads a sublime feeling to an interior. Keywords you can work with are:

Competition Guidelines

1. Submissions (together with the registration form*) can be sent in high-resolution jpeg to: info@ajanaku.com;
2. Deadline for submissions is Sunday February 26, 2012 ;
3. We advise you to take a look at the different pieces of furniture on the Mykea website before you start with your basic design (www.thisismykea.com). This way you have a good idea of the different shapes and forms your design has to take on eventually;
4. Your design is printed on very large size. So please check your design very accurate! A design can look great on screen format, but if you enlarge the design with a few hundred percent you will see that for example certain lines or planes are not well aligned or are not touching where it should or are crossing where it should not, etc.;
5. And most importantly; Don’t forget to name your design!

Prizes

7 Artists will be selected to be part of the series. First place winner will win a 100 euro voucher for Tenue de Nimes denim store in Amsterdam, and his or her design will represent the series. Further, all winners will win:

1.    A t-shirt of choice from LimitedTshirts.com;
2.    A print of their own design for their own furniture;  and
3.    A percentage of sales.
